Faye Valentine

Faye Valentine is one of the cartoon characters from the anime series Cowboy Bebop. She has a huge fan following and is often compared with Jessica Rabbit in terms of sexiness. In the series, she is actually a 77 year old woman but does not look a day older than 23 because she was in suspended animation for 54 years owing to a space shuttle accident.  When she wakes from this cryogenic sleep, she finds that she does not remember her past life and is diagnosed with total amnesia. To make matters worse she has a huge debt to pay off and no means to do that. This leads to her being taken advantage of by many people who claim to help her.

This early experiences could be the reason behind her brash, loudmouthed, egotistical personality in the series. Faye Valentine is the antithesis to all the sugar pink heroines in the cartoon world. She is addicted to gambling, smokes cigarettes and cigars like a chimney and drinks like a man. She is devoid of all ladylike attributes and takes to violence at the drop of a hat. Never weak, never trusting, always lying and cheating, she sometimes is more of a liability to the team. Her sarcasm and presumptuousness stops her from making any real friends and is more of a loner.

However, despite her small and delicate frame, she makes a formidable opponent to anyone who dares to challenge her. Faye Valentines knows how to throw a powerful punch and is expert at flying the Red Tail. She carries a Glock 30 for a gun which is her only constant companion. The fact that her introduction to the series starts with her putting out of action a shop with the Heckler&Koch MP5K speaks for itself about her ability with the gun. In spite of her disagreeable personality, she grows in character as the series progresses and considers Bebop her home eventually.
